The challenge and reward of Yin yoga is holding poses for up to five minutes, longer than in other styles. It can be difficult to still the mind and the body and stay in a pose that long. But the very act of staying takes you to a place of inner quiet.
The physical benefit of Yin yoga is greater flexibility, rather than the strength-building done in styles such as Power yoga.
